New Suffolk Golf Club Owners Promise ‘Exciting Plans’

The new owners of Cretingham Golf Club have said they are delighted to be at the helm, and ready to implement ‘exciting plans’.

Matthew and Claire Thacker completed the purchase of the club, near Framlingham, with the legal support of regional firm, Birketts.

Trading as Harvest Haulage Ltd, the pair have now completed the formal handover and are immediately focusing attention on upgrading the facility.

“We are delighted to have taken ownership of this beautiful Golf Club and are very thankful for the swift, clear, calm advice that Birketts has provided throughout the transaction,” the new owners said.

“We had to work to a very tight timeframe and Jack and Ed made sure we achieved it. It was a very uncertain period for Cretingham Golf Club but we were expertly guided through the process.

“We have exciting plans for 2018 and work will shortly begin to upgrade, enhance and develop facilities including the bar area in the club house and a covered driving range.”

Birketts’ Ed Savory added: “To have assisted Matthew and Claire to secure this dream is very rewarding. No doubt the Club, log cabins and related facilities, under their leadership, will prosper and be enjoyed by golfers and the wider community for many years to come.”
