Merged Firms Celebrate Formal Launch

Brown & Co Barfords has officially marked its launch, following the merger of two successful surveying firms.

Property & Business Consultants Brown & Co, and St Neots based Barford+Co, joined forces at the end of last year to create a major presence and expand on the services offered to clients.

The Brown & Co Barfords team, based in central St Neots, hosted a launch event this week, along with colleagues from the wider Brown & Co team.

Guests included representatives from local Councils, the Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses.

Welcoming guests at the event, Charles Whitaker, Managing Partner at Brown & Co said: “Barford+Co’s practice’s longevity, credibility and high quality of service in the local property market has been clear over the last forty years.

“Their approach and their ethos very much fits with that of Brown & Co across the country. They were a natural fit for us to expand our regional service offering to include Commercial and Planning & Architectural from our existing Huntingdon based Agricultural team.

“We aim to bring the Huntingdon & St Neots businesses together under a single roof to accommodate our combined team of circa 35 staff to seek to deliver value in services and expertise across our core strengths.”

Sheila Smyth, a long standing employee of the original Barford + Co for 27 years, joined the newly merged business as Partner.

Speaking at the launch event, Sheila said: “We are hugely passionate about the work we do, the role we have and the people we serve in the provision of Property and Surveyor services.

“I am proud to lead this expert team and look forward to showcasing our further strengthened practice as a result of this merger, in our new future as Brown & Co Barfords.”
